You may have to see us straight away if you have any of the following dental disasters:
Pain, swelling or the presence of pus around a tooth may be a sign of infection so you should see us as soon as you can. In the meantime, you can rinse your mouth with warm, salty water and apply a cold compress on your cheek to relieve any discomfort.
Broken or knocked out teeth
If your tooth has been accidentally pushed out of place, broken or knocked out completely, give us a call as soon as possible. We can potentially save a displaced tooth if you see us immediately, so just pop it back in position (or keep it in some milk or water with a pinch of salt) and bring it along with you.
If a tooth has been pushed out of place, apply a cold compress and take pain relief. Try to keep any bits of chipped or broken teeth, then swill your mouth with warm salty water, using a cold compress to reduce any swelling.
Other types of emergency
If any of your dental restorations, such as crowns, dentures or implants are damaged or lost, you’ll probably want an immediate replacement. Similarly, if dental appliances such as braces are causing you any discomfort you should see us as soon as possible so we can make the necessary adjustments or repairs.
If you do have a mouth related mishap, please call Broadway Dental Care immediately on 01293 428342 (every day between 8am – 10pm, except Christmas day) and we will give you the first available appointment. We normally aim to respond to dental emergencies on the same day.
During the emergency consultation, our dentist will explain any treatment required to relieve your pain, and will also recommend the definitive solution. This consultation costs £39 and includes antibiotics and x-rays.
